Behind each successful rescue there is a committed squad. Today we know the history of Ángel Valencia and his dog Kanda, those who form part of the canine unit of Civil defence of Tona, working untiringly in the research and rescue of missing people.

The bond among the dogs of rescue and his guides is an example of discipline, dedication and solidarity. 
Ángel Valencia has devoted his life to coach and collaborate with these extraordinary animals that, thanks to his acute smell and skilled coaching, turn a fundamental tool to locate missing people in situations of emergency.

The Civil defence of Tona no always had a canine unit. Ángel and other volunteers began like a private group until they decided to integrate his work inside the structure of the Civil defence, attaining the backrest of the city council and guaranteeing a main security for his squad and his dogs. This decision no only allowed them act with more efficiency, but also it ensured them coverage and legal backrest in each intervention.

It is important to stand out that Ángel and his squad form part of the Association of Volunteers of Civil defence of Tona.
